Trump's Big Beautiful Bill might have good things going for it, but it sock it to the environment. The New Green Bill was expensive, but not the importance of an environment! We can not trust the government as a body. If member of Congress make good money, they perhaps just pay it out of their own pockets! If we save on taxes that would be a good thing to spend on.

I couldn't leave a message with The Sierra Club on standing up to President Trump concerning the environment. I do not use Face Book and the others, so I say it on this blog. So Mr. Trump please do not destroy Mother Nature! I don't expect the government to fund the complete bill. It waste more on welfare, the government is responsible in protecting the environment! Hopefully the club is reading this. Thank You for reading this!
I read today that Trump's Secretary of Agriculture want to end what is called "The no road rule" forbidding roads to be constructed in vast forest area what looks to be for logging. Now does she want to modify things or wants to build a highway system for the logging companies. Nothing against the logging companies as long as they replant, but they seem to be doing well enough. I get the idea that they perhaps of cleaning out brush to prevent fires. Or is it just for over production. Forest fires are most started by lighting. If there is no buildings, let the fires burnout themselves by nature. We do not need unnecessary roads! Thank You!
In trade, nations try to do what's best for their country. They will take advantage of some other countries and be taken advantage of other countries. I don't think one country can be taken advantage of by all other countries nor take advantage of all countries.
Bicyclist should relearn hand signals and stop riding on the sidewalks.
the Democrats want to keep the importance of funding public television and it is important. I can see the Republican view too. You can not trust such funding from the government. It is a tax payers' expense. But the Republican should at least encourage the members of Congress and others to dig in their own pockets. I would give myself if I didn't give to other things. They know where to find the money. Thanks for reading!
Folks say that Trump " does what he says what he promises he is going to do. I can admire somebody for that, but it depends on what he is promising. Like he promises the big oil companies that he will destroy the environment for them. Just because he make promised doesn't mean they're moral! Thank You for reading!

Where I live in St. Cloud MN and its metropolitan area, folks like bicycling on the sidewalks. On a trail for pedestrians yield to bladders and bicyclist. They are faster. A sidewalk is for pedestrians. The law says a bicyclist can not ride on the sidewalks. They have to walk their bikes if they need to. A pedestrian should not have to move aside. They have there right.
The real difference between a liberal and a conservative is that a liberal demands change when it's not needed and a conservative demands that things do not change for the sack of not changing. Thank You! and have a good one!

On October 12, 1492, three ships, Pinta, Nina and the Flag Ship Santa Maria with a crew of 90 members and their leader landed on an Island in the Caribbean Sea In what is now called the West Indies.
The captain named the Island San Salvador( Spanish for Holy Savior). His name was Christopher Columbus.
Historians are not sure which island this is. In 1926, Watling Island in the Bahamas was renamed San Salvador Island because Columbus Scholars considered it the most likely landing site. Other islands of possibilities include Saman Cay and Conception in the Bahamas and Grand Turk in the Turks Islands.
Christopher Columbus was born between August 25 and October 31 in 1451 in Genoa, then the Capital of a self-governing area on the Northwest coast of Italy. An important seaport, Genoa’s ships traded throughout the Mediterranean region.
His given Italian name was Cridofora Columbo. In English he is known as Christopher Columbus. A Latinized form of the name. When he settled in Spain, he called himself Cristobal Colon. His father, Sonnenico Columbo, was a Wool Weaver. Domenico also worked as a
Gatekeeper and a Wine Merchant for extra income Christopher’s mother, Susanna Fonlanrossa was a daughter of a Wool Weaver.
Christopher was the oldest of five children. Two of his brothers, Bartholomew and Diego worked closely with him on many of his enterprises. Christopher and his brothers were possibly sent to Monastery school or tutored to learn basic Latin and mathematics. His formal education ended at about age 14.
Setting into a business career, he in 1476 settled in a Genoese colony in Lisbon Portugal. Columbus and his brother Bartholomew drew and sold maps.
He met Felipa Perestrello Moniz, the daughter of the first Governor of Porto Ganto, a Portuguese island in Macleir a group off the Atlantic Coast of Northern Africa. They married in q479. The young couple moved to Porto Santo, then to the nearby island of Madeira. They had one child, a son born in 1480. Felipa Died in 1484 or 1485.
By the 1490’s, a sturdy ship called the Caravel was invented by the Portuguese. This ship could sail against the wind.
In 1419, Portuguese began their overseas expansion.
Prince Henry the Navigator, 1394- 1460, sponsored explorations of the West African Coast.
In 2488,a Portuguese ship commanded by Bartolomeu Dias sailed all the way around the Cape of Good Hope which is at the southern tip of Africa. It was the first in European History.
In 1497, five years after Columbus landed in America, Vasco da Gama rounded the cape and reached India in 1498.
Europeans at that time were trying to reach the Indies which is now India, China, Japan and the East Indies for direct access to gold silk, gems and spices. The spices of the Spice Islands, the present day Moluccas, Indonesia provided medicines and seasonings.
Columbus thought it would be easier to sail west. He earlier sailed as a Merchant.
Columbus based his information of the Earth’s size on a Florence Scholar named Paolo Toscanelli who received his by Ptolemy an Astronomer and Geographer in Alexandria Egypt during the A.; D. 100’s Ptoleny’s map showed the Earth with mostly land.
In about 1483, Columbus managed to gain an audience with King John II of Portugal. The King then placed Columbus’s proposal in front of the Council. They turned him down; they already knew the Earth was round. Educated people knew it was round. They mainly knew that Columbus greatly underestimated the length of the journey. Which would mean under estimating the size of the earth. The King’s Advisors thought that Portugal’s resources should be invested in finding a route around Africa to Asia.
In 1485, Columbus and his son traveled to Portugal's enemy Spain. At that time Spain which consisted of the United Kingdom of Castile and Aragon was in a war to drive the Muslims out of Granada, the only remaining Islamic Kingdom in Spain. He was offered some ships by two wealthy Spanish Aristocrats, but they needed permission from Spain’s Monarchs .They were in no condition to finance an expedition. They also feared reopening a conflict with Portugal.
Finally in April of 1492 Columbus’ plans received Royal Approval.
Two ships, the Pinta, Caraval with square= rigged sails that could carry about 60 tons(54 metric tons) and the slightly smaller Nina -a Caraval with the latest( triangular sails and the Flag Ship Santa Maria sailed from Palos, a small port in Southern Spain.
A total of 90 crewmen sailed aboard the three ships.
Columbus and his crew set out from Palos on August 3, 1493, sailing to the Canary Islands, which Spain still owns, on August 12. They made repairs and gathered provisions. They left on September 6. Columbus sailed South then West to take advantage of the Trade Winds.
As it was written earlier the ships landed in San Salvador on October 12 1292.
The fleet entered the Bay of Boracay off Cuba on October 28. Columbus sailed harbor after harbor. He thought they were near the Asian mainland. They then sailed along the Northern Coast of the Island of Hispaniola(the Spanish Island). An exhausted Columbus on December 24, gave the helm of the Santa Maria to a sailor who in turn gave it to a Cabin Boy. The ship crashed on a reef near Cap Haitian splitting apart. This was present day Haiti. A local Chief helped the crew make a makeshift fort. Forty men were left there to hunt for gold.
The fleet headed for home on January 16,1493, taking several captured Taino with him.
The Nina landed in Palos on March 15 The Pinto, three hours later on the same tide.
A second voyage was done in 1493-1496, a third in 1498-1500 and a fourth 1502-1504 second voyage was done in 1493-1496, a third in 1498-1500 and a fourth 1502-1504.

I traveled to Jay Cooke State Park near Duluth in st. Louis County.
I rented a small cabin. Many state Parks have small cabins for folks who don't have camping equipment like tents.
Each day I was there, I went on hikes.
I challenged myself. I shot one image in color per day . The rest in black-and-white. B&W does very little injustice to images of nature. They can look very interesting.he manual mode of my then D-40 worked well. The auto, not so well for color. For the manual color you will see it did work very well for color. But I had to conclude them.

I was looking through my many images for three to use for a contest for the AARP Foundation , hopefully to have at least one except for their calendar This was for the 2023 Calendar. No such luck. I have failed different times. But it dawned on me that perhaps I have enough images of train depots in the United States and a few in Canada.
Now they come in all sizes.Depots like Penn Station in New York, New York have different underground levels for Amtrak, Long Island and others plus shops.
They say that Pennsylvania Station in New York, New York was a grand looking one until they tore it down at ground level and built Madison Square Garden on it. Now it’s just a station. I would say off hand that Grand Central to the Northeast is more to brag about. I believe I have no still images on it . Video yes. In Penn Station it would be hard to get a main shot. Union Station in Washington D.C. is huge. I would say it has less waiting room for the passengers, but has even more shops and actual stores and services.
Depots like the South Station in Boston have areas for trains and buses.
Depots in places such as the Dakotas and Montana have simple buildings.The simplest was the one in Ticonderoga in Upper New York State. A simple square mostly glass building by the tracks in the middle of nowhere.
Back at Penn Station, New York, New York has shops for meals with reasonable prices compared to what one would pay outside. Union Station in Washington D.C. has its restaurants plus a large Food Court on the lower level. Smaller depots, perhaps vending machines.
One depot is closed and only picks up and dropped off passengers. You can not get inside. One buys their tickets somewhere else. At Ticonderoga you also have to buy a ticket like in the town itself. Yet you can go inside . It has a wonderful view.

It has been a while since I typed anything! I didn't get around to it or thought of it. I hope you will buy my book I have advertised. Plus another message on my blog. Do you remember how to do hand signal on a bicycle? Hopefully! For those who do not. Left hand out, at 90 degrees up, right turn, left hand straight left, left turn, left hand out and downward, stopping.
